Announcing the Estate of Clyde Fowler
Laster’s Fine Art & Antiques are proud to represent the estate personal property of Mr. Clyde Fowler who passed away February 1st, 2016.
A native of Burlington, NC, Clyde Fowler earned his BFA in Communication Art and Design from Virginia Commonwealth University and studied drawing at the Arts Students League and the National Academy School of Fine Arts in New York. In 1975, Dean John Sneden selected him to direct the Visual Arts Program at the North Carolina School of the Arts.
A teacher of enormous influence, Clyde taught for 30 years at NCSA (1975-2005). He was known for his humor, his ability to share the thrill of true creativity in the classroom, and his demand for artistic rigor. Clyde ignited a lifelong spark that has been the foundation and inspiration of numerous artistic careers. In 1995, Clyde received the NCSA Award for Teaching Excellence. In 2005, the School of Design and Production awarded him the title of Emeritus Faculty.
Much of his personal property is currently on display in our art gallery at 664 South Stratford Road. We have furniture, artwork, and pottery pieces from Clyde’s home in Winston-Salem. Laster’s is also working in conjunction with the School of the Arts to sell Mr. Fowler’s personal art.
Please contact us by phone or email for further information on purchasing Mr. Fowler’s art.
The photos below are items that will be available for sale during an estate tag sale taking place August 26th and 27th in Winston-Salem. Please visit our EstateSale.Net listing for the address, available later this week.

We are interested in finding out about purchasing an abstract piece painted by Clyde Fowler. We bought one of his works at an exhibition in Winston Salem two years ago, and we also were friends of Clyde’s.
